New Year's Update

Well now, it looks as though Google are as good as their word here. At first I was panicking because I host this blog myself at home on my Windows 2003 Server and I was worried in case Google were to use 'speed' as a criteria for search placement. Fortunately what Matt Cutts of Google IS saying above is OPTIMISED. If your website is well optimised - You're not wasting space with huge uncompressed images, you're not using ETags, you're caching static content etc... then Google will give you credit for that.

If you want to find out just how efficient your website is go here: http://webpagetest.org

Today is the 6th of January and I can say for sure that Google is now ranking me higher because my traffic to this site has DOUBLED since the New Year!

Trust me, if you haven't already get optimising NOW!!. If you don't quite know what to do or where to start, just e-mail me or leave a comment here - and I'll get you started in the right direction.

This website now actually loads faster than many mainstream websites that are hosted with major ISP's - LOL!!!

Happy New Year!

Simon
