Theming Google Apps.
And finally for that last bit of sparkle to your Google Apps email you want to add the custom ‘Themes’ – but eh? It’s not there…
How to theme your new Google Apps domain.
So you’ve got your sparkley new domain, you’ve set your MX records to point to the Google Servers and for a nice bit of polish you’ve even set up a reditection from mail.yourdomain.com to http://mail.google.com/a/yourdomain.
Indeed, it would appear that it doesn’t exist.
It took me a while to figure this out the first time I had this problem, now 6 months later and I’m setting up a new domain I can vaguely remember how it’s done, so I thought just for an aid-memoir for myself I’ll make a post about it and also hope it helps someone else in the process.
To solve this, you will need to be logged in to your Google Apps account and have Administrator privlidges. Then click on Manage account information.
Now select the Google Apps General Tab.
Now scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see this:

And just make sure the Next Generation radio button is selected (if it already is and you still don’t see the Themes tab appear that the only reason that happens is because you’ve only just set up Google Apps on your domain – really sometimes these things just take time – nothing more)
All you need to do now esteemed effendi is to wait paitiently – maybe even for a few days, but it will appear!
